No matter the age, a mother has the strongest impact on her children than any other person.
The love and devotion she shows them teaches her child to love others. The respect she shows, teaches them the power of respect and how to earn it. Watching her work hard at everything she does whether it be a job outside the home or taking care of the house and family, teaches them that hard work pays off. The kindness she shows teaches them to always be kind to others.
My mother has stood behind me through everything. Every mistake, every disappointment, every achievement, and every triumph. She shared in my happiness and shared in my sorrow. When I graduated college, she felt an achievement too. She cried in happiness at my wedding because she knew I had found the person I was meant to be with, the man that would care for me and build a family with me.
Everything I am is because of her. I know she thinks she wasn’t perfect, but to me she will always be the perfect mother- the mom I strive to be every day. It was not until I became a mother that I realized how much she did for us every day. I realized the sacrifices she made so that we would always have everything we needed to thrive.
So on Mother’s Day I want to share with all of the mommies, even if it doesn’t seem like your child appreciates you now, one day they will look back and see how lucky they were to have a mom like you. Even if you feel like you are failing at parenthood, you are perfect to your precious babies and one day they will strive to be the parent that you are. They are the way they are because of you. Their successes are yours to share in because you have brought them there.
Thank you to all the mom’s out there because you have created a miracle, another person on this Earth that will show love and kindness to others. That will make this world a better place.
